Emotional and physical pain can be devastating. “Marble Me Free” is an internationally award-winning animation of Starlit Swan’s poem, “The Marble Block.” Starlit has Complex Regional Pain Syndrome which is known as a “suicide illness” due to the severity of pain.

Starlit met Dr. Diane Kaufman at an Arts & Healing Resiliency Center online workshop facilitated by the esteemed Poetic Medicine Practitioner, John Fox. Dr. Kaufman and Starlit decided to meet again. A few days later, Starlit and Dr. Kaufman met again. Upon hearing Starlit’s poem, Dr. Kaufman immediately recognized its healing powers and asked Starlit if she would like the poem to become an animation.That is how “Marble Me Free” began.

The goal of the Marble Me Free Initiative is to break the cycle of pain and suicide.
