Suicidal Crisis Support

If you are wrestling with suicidal thoughts reach out. Together we can successfully navigate the journey of healing and resilience. There is no shame in asking for help. We all need help in living our lives. Click here for suicide prevention resources.

If you believe someone you care about is at suicidal risk reach out. Don’t be a bystander. Learn how to help.

Step One

Hold on. Do not act on your suicidal thoughts. Reach out for help. If you are in danger of acting on your suicidal thoughts go to a hospital emergency room or a walk-in mental health center. If you have made a suicide attempt please call 911 for medical attention and an ambulance. It is never too late to save your life.

Reach out for help. Call or text someone you trust. A friend, family member, therapist, crisis counselor or spiritual advisor. Visit the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Step Two

Create a safety plan and use it. A safety plan is a written document that outlines what you can do to cope when you feel suicidal. It may include coping strategies, contact information for your support network, and ways to make your environment safer.

Make your environment safe by removing or locking up all guns, knives, sharps, and medications. Do not turn to alcohol or drugs. Alcohol and substances will only make things worse. They are not your friend in your time of desperation. Keep yourself safe.

Step Three

Seek professional treatment. Suicidal thoughts are indications that you are in severe emotional distress and that help is needed. There may be an underlying mental health disorder such as depression, anxiety, or trauma.

With treatment to address these difficulties, you can feel better and reduce your risk of suicide. As long as you stay alive your life can improve. Treatment can include therapy, medication, exercise, nutrition, arts, and healing activities, and social support.

Hold On "Wings of Resilience"

The pain you feel is real and it is deep. You are hurting so much. But please remember this. Even in the midst of pain, there is something stronger inside you that wants to grow, is meant to grow, and will grow. When we hold on to that truth, our wings of resilience fly us to a bluer, brighter, and better sky.

“Wings of Resilience” events and workshops provide mental health well-being skills and strategies, arts & healing activities, and engagement in a caring community.

Within us all there exists a state of mind - our very own Arts & Healing Resiliency Center - when we set our "right mind" to access it.
